Delta Summer Dance Camp 2009

This year we will only be holding Summer Camp in Delta on June 10-11 and July 2-3. The cost will be $35 for everyone! There will be 3 different classes. Ages 5 and up (Beg. Int. and Adv.). It will be held at the Dance Studio (across the street from the Delta City Library). Registration will be held an hour before classes begin on the first day. I'm not exactly sure when that is yet but I will post it as soon as I do. We will be learning a 4th of July Parade routine which consists of Jazz and Hip Hop. Also, we will be working on Technique. You will also recieve a DBS T-Shirt and a 2 hour class each day.

Competition Fees

We will be attending 2 competitions this year.
The Parowan Competition and the Dixie Jam.
Competition Fees are:
Fillmore-
Jazz 1 & Jazz 2 will be $45.00 (this includes fees for all routines at both competitions. This will be due with January's Tuition.)
Jazz 3 & Jazz 4 will be $75.00 (this includes fees for all routines at both competitions. This will be due with January's Tuition.)

Delta-
Jazz 2 will be $45.00 (this includes fees for all routines at both competitions. This will be due with January's Tuition.)
Jazz 3 & 4 $65.00 (this includes fees for all routines at both competitions. This will be due with January's Tuition.)

Performances for both Delta and Fillmore!

There will be a Christmas Performance and end of the year Review. We will perform at a couple of Basketball games and we will be performing at the Great Basin Drill Team Competition in Delta. Because of rental of the building and janitorial staff we will be charging at both the Christmas Program $2.00 per adult $1.00 per child and the End of the Year Review $3.00 per adult and $1.00 per child.

Costumes

You will need to purchase 2 dance costumes. Jazz costume will be due September 15 and the other costume will be ready to order at the first of November. We are going to add alterations for hip hop from the Jazz and vise versa. We are going to try and keep the cost between $50-80.00 per costume. There will be studio sweatshirts and pants available to purchase on November 1, 2008. THESE ARE NOT MANDATORY! We will require the girls to have any kind of black tennis shoe for the hip hops, Sun tan colored footless tights for competitions, and tan toe undies. Registration will be held at the Studio on the FIRST DAY OF CLASS!
Classes begin on AUGUST 18, 2008 starting at 2:00 p.m.
When you sign up you will need to pay for:
Insurance: $10.00
Jazz Costume (Look to Costumes)
Tuition for August and September.

Registration for Delta

Registration will be on August 18, 2008 at the Recreational Park on Manzanita Ave. It will be an open registration from 5:30-8:00 p.m.

DANCER OF THE MONTH! (Starting Fall 2008)

*Show up to class on time and ready to dance in dance attire

Names of all dancers who meet these requirements will be put into a drawing at the end of the month. The winner will recieve:
-Framed 11x14 Black and White picture in the Studio
-Picture and article in the Millard County Newspaper
-Receive free tuition the following month

Shayla Johnson and Brenda Stevens

Shayla and Brenda welcome students from Millard County. They will be offering Technique, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip hop and Tap classes ages 3 through High School. Teaming up together we offer a wide variety of dance skills and experience!

Brenda Stevens: Former owner of Xpressions Dance Co. She taught classes at Dance club and for the Modern Dance team at UVU (UVSC). She's been teaching since she was a Sophomore in High School. This past year she was the Millard High Cheer Advisor. She has attended Ryre Woodbury for a number of years.

Shayla Johnson: From Delta UT. 4 year High School drill team member. 2 year Drill Mistress. 2005-2007 Former Waukeenyan Captain (SUU Drill Team). 3rd year employee of UDA (Universal Dance Association) Shayla has taught all over the West Coast of the United States doing Technique, choreography and camps for Drill Teams and Studios. She has been dancing for 17 years and teaching for 6.
